Power Electric & Construction (800) 310-7510 at 2300 S. Sycamore Ave. L.A. Ca. 90016 was referred to me by a friend. They first came to install three ceiling fans and two circuits for my kitchen, since I had problems with my breakers tripping. As they were working, I asked If they could advise me on ways to lower my electric bill since my bills were hitting from $350-$450 monthly. Juan was surprised on the amount since my home is only three bedrooms, one story and approximately 1250 square feet and a swimming pool. He gave me a range of options from changing bulbs to flourescents, Installing insulation, a more efficient Air conditioning system to changing my windows. However, Juan said the most substancial savings could be obtained by installing a Solar Panel System and informed me there were substancial incentives offered by the utility company and federal government which combined would pay for 50% of the total cost. Based on my electrical needs and roof space available a 5000 Watt solar system was recommended and they could install it for $6.00 a Watt. Since half of the cost would be paid by the incentives,

Philip S., ClaremontI have used Power Electric and Solar for a few electrical jobs in the past, and have always been impressed with the professionalism and the work performed. My wife and I discussed our electrical usage, and thought of ways to be environmentally friendly, the logical conclusion was to have Power Electric and Solar install solar panels for us. We went with a 5000 watt system. Juan came to our house a number of times to present the paperwork, as well as to measure the house. Juan made two measurements, one facing southeast and one facing southwest to see where we would get most for our money. He submitted paperwork to Southern California Edison for the reimbursement, as well as to see which direction would be most beneficial for us. We did drag our feet a little, because this is quite a large investment and I wasn't sure if right now is the time. Solar panels have been dropping in price, as the market is seeing more competition. From my calculation, it'll take about 6-7 years to recover the cost. From purely the financial standpoint, I wasn't too enthusiastic because it takes years to benefit from the panels. But we thought about the environmental impact. We have two small children, what would we want to be the future for them?

I requested an estimate from Power Electric as they had several good reviews. I also got a quote from one of the big solar companies and was impressed with Power Electric's price and responsiveness for the job. Juan came to the house and gave us a detailed quote and we discussed in detail the size of the job and how everything would progress. I was interested in working with a smaller company so I work with one project manager soup to nuts. Juan gave the initial estimate, patiently developed a detailed contract with me, and he was the point person during the permit process, installation, and final inspections. All crew members who came to the house were punctual and professional and did an excellent job. I would absolutely recommend Power Electric to anyone looking for a solar provider.
